What: The Tanksgiving Throwdown is our yearly Warhammer 40,000 event to celebrate the holidays, and is a large player event where each person brings 2000 points of one army, and then are chosen for a team through draft. After the draft, players will meet with their team to discuss strategy and placement briefly before the game begins on several connected tables.
When: The Tanksgiving Throwdown will take place on November 30th, 2025, at 1pm CST, and will last until 8pm CST, though players are completely fine to continue playing after that point!
Where: The event will take place at 3111 Midwestern Pkwy #520, Wichita Falls, TX 76308 in the Sikes Senter mall. The front entrance of the mall will be open, and it is right across from the Cinemark.
Food: Food can be ordered at the start of the event and eaten at convenience during the course of the game, menus for ordering food items will be available both through the QR code and at the bar.
Cost/Prize Support: This event will cost 20$ for non-Warboss members, and prize support will be given to the team that wins the event, including trophies and store credit.
Extra Event Details: The event will feature 7 tables in a rough circle, with terrain and playmats set up by the event organizer before the event begins, with differences to favor different kinds of armies, as well as a Twist card to spice things up a bit. After the draft is done between the two team captains, teams will get a 15 minute period to meet to discuss particulars like strategy and placement of people on certain tables to give them greater advantage. Each table will initially have two players on it, and both teams will collectively roll off, and whichever team rolls the highest goes first. The game will follow normal 40k rules, with some small differences. Players can move past their own tables onto adjacent tables past turn 3 by moving off their board edge adjacent to those tables starting on turn 3, as well as Deepstrike on turn 3 and later. Each phase for both teams will be timed in order to keep things going, with 5 minutes for the Command and Movement phase, 15 minutes for shooting, and 15 minutes for charging/fighting, generally speaking.
