Old Gods of Appalachia:
John Came Home

Sessions

Group A—Tuesdays at 6:00pm
Group B—Sundays at 6:00pm

Old Gods of Appalachia is an eldritch horror fiction podcast set in an Alternate Appalachia, a world where these mountains were never meant to be inhabited. This world feels eerily similar to the hills and hollers we’ve grown up with, but there are some tell-tale differences. And then, of course, there are the monsters…

The year is 1872. The war’s been done now for some 7 years. And John Alexander Crawford just walked in the front door of his house like he ain’t been presumed dead for nigh on a decade.

But John…John ain’t the same man as left here. Not sure if it was the war, or what kept him from home these seven years, or what it took him to come home, but he ain’t right.

Now John’s family ain’t one to gossip, but they are ones to call on the Pastor down at the church hall. They’re seeing things. Hearing things. John keeps muttering at night and while they don’t understand most of it, what they do ain’t safe repeating.

Players will engage in some detective work, psychometry, and some even less seemly things in order to get to the bottom of this mystery before it affects (or infects) the whole dang town.  Family. That ain’t always the blessing we’d like it to be.
